Former Real Madrid defender Michel Salgado believes non-Spain based fans have the ‘same rights’ to watch their team play as those in Spain.
Salgado is concerned about hastily-made decisions and increasing sniping between those at the head of the Spanish FA and La Liga, but is interested in debates.
“It is complicated because fans do not want their teams to play abroad,” Salgado is cited as saying by Diario AS.
“But they must understand that there are fans of teams around the world who are not lucky enough to see their team regularly, but they have plenty of passion too.
“They are not lucky enough to live in Spain but they have the same rights to watch their team live, so we need to have a discussion.
“We need to have meetings and not rush into any decisions because these are long term and it is a sensitive subject for many people.
“Anything too dramatic could lead to a war between leading figures and that will not be good.”
