Cultural Leonesa: Vinicius Junior distorting Segunda B

Cultural Leonesa sporting director Felipe Llamazares believes Vinicius Junior is ‘distorting’ Segunda B when he plays for Real Madrid Castilla.

The Brazilian joined Madrid from Flamengo in a landmark €45m deal this summer but he has played in the club’s Castilla side, who play in the regionalised third tier of Spanish football.

“The competition is being distorted with world class players,” Llamazares said, as reported on club media channels.

“Vinicius could play against us then the following week not appear against a direct rival, so it is distorting the competition and making the situation unbalanced.”

Vinicius is already starring the division as he seeks a spot in Madrid’s first-team matchday squad.
