Sergi Roberto welcomes Spain discipline

Sergi Roberto has welcomed the increase in discipline within the Spain international squad introduced by new Coach Luis Enrique.

Wednesday’s press coverage in Spain focused on the new national team Coach’s discipline including banning mobile phones at dinner and making players more focused, with less leeway.

“Rules can strengthen morale and benefit the entire squad,” Roberto told reporters, as cited by Diario AS.

On Thursday, Isco told reporters: “It's always important to have a little bit of discipline, the ban on mobile phones seems good to me, sometimes we pay more attention to the machines than our teammates.

Sergi Roberto then cited his disappointment at missing out on this summer’s World Cup squad: “Of course it is true you want to be involved in the World Cup.

“Last season was good for me and I was excited by the possibility of representing Spain at the most important tournament, but the Coach decided it was not to be and I had to respect that.

“Now I am glad to be back in the squad and hungry to make my mark.”
