Joaquin revels in ‘dream derby’

Real Betis captain Joaquin has revelled in the ‘dream derby’ victory over Sevilla, clinched with his headed goal late on.

Betis secured their first home win over their city rivals in 12 years when the winger came from the bench to head home the winner with just over ten minutes remaining.

“This was the dream derby,” Joaquin told BeIn Sports after the match.

“This is what I have dreamed of, to score the winning goal in front of the Betis fans, I could not have asked for more.

“What I am most happy with is being able to dedicate this victory to the fans, an important three points and a memorable victory.

“We were very focused throughout the game, we played with a determination and game-plan and I thought we were deserved winners.

“This club has grown a lot recently and the restructuring has been very successful, now the derby is between two teams at the top end and we want it to continue like this.”
