Las Palmas have completed the signing of defender Alberto De La Bella from Real Sociedad on a free transfer, it has been confirmed.

The defender has joined Los Amarillos on a two-year contract with an option for a third and becomes the latest signing in a rebuilding job at the Gran Canarian club.

De La Bella will provide competition for Dani Castellano at the club and joins summer arrivals Ruben Castro, Juan Cala, Rafa Mir and Alvaro Lemos, among others.

The 32-year-old had returned to the Anoeta last year, halfway through a two-year loan stint at Olympiakos and started 17 La Liga games last season.

However, the defender was out of favour at the Basque club, who completed the season-long loan signing of Theo Hernandez from Real Madrid earlier this month.

De La Bella spent eight seasons in La Real’s team, making 189 league appearances for the club but has now officially departed.
