Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo ‘believes’ defender Filipe Luis will remain at the club despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
The full-back has a €30m release clause in his contract at the Wanda Metropolitano but the defender is out of contract next summer but are adamant they want him to stay.
“I believe Filipe will stay, but we have to wait,” Cerezo told Deportes Cuatro, as cited by Marca.
“Filipe Luis is a great player and a great person, we are trying to ensure he does not leave and you know that I always say the same thing – the players play where they want to play.
“We want him to stay, everyone wants him to stay, but the circumstances are the circumstances.
“I think he will stay, but we have to wait for the last few hours which are the ones that give you peace of mind and above all wait to see what the outcome is.”
