Diego Simeone was forthright in his views that Atletico Madrid should refuse to sell Filipe Luis in light of interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
A report in Cadena Ser highlighted how the full-back’s contract talks with Atleti had stalled while the player was reportedly keen on interest from PSG.
The Brazilian has fallen behind Lucas Hernandez in the pecking order at the Wanda Metropolitano while the French champions were seeking a replacement for Yuri Berchiche.
“Filipe Luis is a player who is very important to us and he knows this, he knows how much he is adored here,” Simeone told reporters, as cited by Marca.
“Tomorrow (Monday, against Valencia) he will play and I am only concentrated on that game and how important it is for us.
“My thoughts are clear – I do not want Filipe to leave us, he is one of the best players and I want him to remain with us.”
