Former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is among a list of 11 candidates for FIFA’s The Best Coach awards for 2018.
The Frenchman guided Los Blancos to their third consecutive Champions League title in May before stunning the footballing world by leaving the club.
It was a hugely disappointing domestic campaign for Madrid – who entered the season as league holders – but their European exploits has put Zidane firmly in the running.
Barcelona’s Ernesto Valverde is also on the shortlist following his side’s domestic league and cup ‘double’ while Diego Simeone is included to after guiding Atletico Madrid to the Europa League title.
France World Cup winning boss Didier Deschamps is favourite for the award while former Barca boss Pep Guardiola is also on the shortlist after guiding Manchester City to the Premier League title.
The period of times covers 3 July 2017 – the end of last season’s Confederations Cup – until 15 July 2018, the World Cup final.
