Barcelona midfielder Paulinho has confirmed that he could move back to China, with a return to Guangzhou Evergrande mooted.
Sport reported on Thursday that Barca had received a €50m offer from an unnamed Chinese club for Paulinho, while Mundo Deportivo followed up that the Brazilian was ‘a step away’ from re-joining Guangzhou.
“I’m going to Barcelona to talk to my representative about this matter,” he told Onda Cero after his country’s World Cup exit to Belgium on Friday.
“I have an offer from China and one from another club, although it’s not certain that I’ll leave. We need to talk.”
The 29-year-old moved to Barca in a €40m deal from Guangzhou last summer and scored nine goals in 49 appearances for the Catalans, winning a Liga and Copa double.
However, only 27 of those were starts, while he netted just once more between January and the end of the season.
