Betis sign Joel Robles on four-year deal

Real Betis have signed goalkeeper Joel Robles on a four-year contract following his contract expiration at Everton, it has been confirmed.

The 28-year-old shot-stopper spent five years at Goodison Park but has decided to move on after his contract expired this summer.

“Real Betis Balompie has signed Joel Robles from Everton FC,” read a Betis club statement.

“The goalkeeper has signed a contract until 2022.”

The Spaniard becomes the fourth arrival at Los Verdiblancos this summer following the arrivals of Espanyol goalkeeper Pau Lopez, Takashi Inui from Eibar and Real Sociedad’s Sergio Canales, all of whom on free transfers.

There has been a total revamp of the goalkeeping department at Betis this summer with the exits of former first-choice pair Antonio Adan (Atletico Madrid) and Dani Gimenez (Deportivo).
