Recently relegated Malaga have confirmed the appointment of Juan Ramon Muniz as Coach ahead of the new season.
The 49-year-old, who has already taken charge of the Costa del Sol outfit twice in the past, has replaced Jose Gonzalez following the club’s relegation to La Liga 123.
Muniz started his coaching career with Marbella, going on to become assistant to Juande Ramos at Malaga in 2003, before subsequent spells as Head Coach with Malaga (twice), Racing Santander, Dnipro and Alcorcon.
Indeed, the Gijon-native was the architect of Malaga’s last promotion to the top flight in 2008 and he won promotion with Levante twelve months ago.
Muniz was dismissed from Levante in early March with his side perched just above the relegation zone.
