Former Spain boss Javier Clemente has blasted the ‘clueless’ Spanish FA president Luis Rubiales, who dismissed Coach Julen Lopetegui on Wednesday.
The decision came on the eve of the World Cup tournament getting underway in Russia leaving Clemente, who led La Roja to a group stage exit in 1998, unhappy.
“Rubiales is clueless in terms of sports management,” Clemente told Onda Vasca radio, in quotes carried by Marca.
“His arguments for this decision sound dictatorial and he does not understand football properly, you can see he is putting all his friends in place.
“He has replaced a lot of long-serving workers in this organisation.”
