Coach Natxo González has confirmed he has departed Real Zaragoza and is set to be announced as new Deportivo La Coruna boss.
The 51-year-old took the helm at Los Blanquillos last season but a promotion playoff semi-final defeat to Numancia was his last in charge.
“For different reasons I will not be the Coach of Real Zaragoza next season,” González is cited as saying by Marca.
“Despite being still under the psychology of the disappointment of the last game, I am proud of what we have done at this club.
“It was a great season for us in which we were the third best team in a difficult and tough division, but importantly we have built for the future.
“The project will continue with a consolidated base with lots of great players for the future.”
Zaragoza, recognised as one of Spain’s biggest clubs, are now set for their sixth successive season without top flight football.
