Fiorentina want Getafe’s Guaita

The agent of out-of-contract Getafe goalkeeper Vicente Guaita has confirmed Italian club Fiorentina are interested in signing his client.

Agent Javier Ruiz admits La Viola would be a ‘great destination’ for the 31-year-old, who is out-of-contract at the Coliseum at the end of the month.

Crystal Palace have been heavily linked with a move for the Spaniard who made over 100 appearances for Valencia before joining Los Azulones in 2014, keeping 12 clean sheets last season as the side finished eighth in their first season back in La Liga.

“Fiorentina are interested in Guaita, I’ve talked to [sporting director] Corvino in the past,” Ruiz told Lady Radio.

“The situation is currently on standby, but we’re negotiating. Fiorentina are a great team and I like them as a destination for Vicente.”

Fiorentina require a new shot-stopper after Marco Sportiello joined Atalanta.
