Ronaldo ‘to buy Real Valladolid’

Spanish second division club Real Valladolid will reportedly be purchased by former Barcelona and Real Madrid striker Ronaldo Nazario.

Marca cite a report in Brazilian media outlet O Globo that the former Brazil international is set to lodge a €30m offer for the club, based in central Spain.

However, Marca themselves indicate that while Valladolid president Carlos Suarez has denied talks are at an advanced stage, he would be open to such an offer.

Former Valladolid president Jose Moro was Ronaldo’s former partner in a wine business, while Diario AS cite Ronaldo as saying in January: “I would like to buy a team in the second division of Spain or England. I want to do something innovative.”

Valladolid currently sit sixth, just inside the promotion playoffs, in La Liga 123 with one round of fixtures to go.
