Odegaard uncertain on future

Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard admitted his future lies in the balance but he is open to a loan move to another Spanish club.

The 19-year-old made 43 appearances across two seasons at Dutch club Heerenveen but has since returned to Madrid, with the expectation that he will once more be farmed out.

“A loan to a Spanish club would be a good option for me,” Odegaard told Norwegian media outlet NTB, as cited by Diario AS.

“It is important for me to find the right environment of a club, where I can play but as yet there have been no decisions, but I will not return to the Netherlands.

“If there is no move, I will train with Madrid in pre-season and try to show what I can do.”

Odegaard, who joined Madrid from Stromsgodset in 2014, has started just one Copa del Rey match for Los Blancos.
