Real Betis have targeted a summer deal for Rayo Vallecano defender Alex Moreno, who scored the goal which clinched promotion, according to reports.
The 24-year-old has starred for the league leaders in La Liga 123 this campaign, having been converted from a winger to left-back in Vallecas.
After scoring the goal that secured Rayo’s ascension back to the top flight at the weekend, Moreno said: “It is incredible to live this moment and above all to score the winning goal. This group and this club deserve everything.”
Diario de Sevilla report Betis will look to bring him to sign Moreno on a cut-price transfer this summer to provide competition to Junior Firpo – who is also a converted winger.
The report continues that Riza Durmisi’s future at Los Verdiblancos is increasingly uncertain and such a deal could see the Danish international sold in the summer transfer window.
Betis are already said to have agreed a deal for out-of-contract Espanyol goalkeeper Pau Lopez, winger Sergio Canales from Real Sociedad and Eibar midfielder Takashi Inui.
