La Liga investigates match-fixing claims

La Liga are investigating a series of betting abnormalities surrounding Sunday’s La Liga 123 clash between Huesca and Gimnastic.

The relegation-threatened visitors triumphed 1-0 at already-promoted Huesca (pictured), but a series of high-stakes bets from Ukraine before the game have aroused suspicion.

El Confidential leads on reports that claim vast amounts of money were put on the score-line being 0-0 at half time before the Catalan visitors would then win the game 1-0, both of which occurred.

Players of both teams have told reporters there is no reason to suspect foul play during the game, which saw Gimnastic claim a vital three points to move away from the drop zone.

In a further bizarre incident, Huesca’s Instagram account posted an image with a 0-2 score-line at half-time, when there had been no goals scored at that point.
