A report in the Daily Mail claims Atletico Madrid are considering a shock move for West Bromwich Albion striker Salomon Rondon.
Atleti boss Diego Simeone has a vacancy to fill in his attack following Fernando Torres’ announcement he is leaving the club, while the transfer of Antoine Griezmann to Barcelona is still up in the air despite claims the Frenchman has said he wants to remain at the Wanda Metropolitano.
As a result, Rondon is understood to be among a number of forwards being sounded out, as it is widely expected he will depart The Hawthorns after Albion’s relegation to the Championship.
The Venezuela international notched 10 goals in all competitions last term and has been with the club three years since joining from Zenit Saint Petersburg for a reported €17m, scoring 28 goals in that time.
