Atleti: PSG pair to replace Grizi?

Atletico Madrid are reportedly looking to replace Antoine Griezmann with Paris Saint-Germain pair Angel Di Maria and Edinson Cavani.

According to El Larguero, Di Maria has ‘grown tired’ of playing second fiddle to Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Cavani in PSG’s attack.

Consequently, his agent would have already reached out to Atleti sporting director Andrea Berta over the possibility of a summer transfer.

The Argentine played for Real Madrid between 2010 and 2014, famously helping them to victory over their city rivals in the 2014 Champions League Final.

Mundo Deportivo, meanwhile, claims there is ‘an agreement in principle’ for Cavani to join Los Colchoneros.

The newspaper notes the Uruguayan is ready to leave Parc des Princes after falling out with Neymar and will take a pay cut to sign for Atleti.

Los Rojiblancos would also knock two birds with one stone by signing the 31-year-old as Fernando Torres is also leaving Wanda Metropolitano.

MD concludes by explaining Diego Simeone is keen on partnering Cavani with Diego Costa up top, while Diego Godin and Josema Gimenez are doing their bit to facilitate the arrival of their compatriot.

The links come just a day after Barca admitted holding talks with Griezmann, with Spanish reports agreeing he has been offered an improved contract worth €20m a season by Atleti, although it would see his release clause surpass €200m.
