Real Sociedad have confirmed long-serving defender Carlos Martinez will leave the club after nearly two decades.
The 32-year-old first joined the Basque club in 1999 and he has made over 200 first-team appearances, having come through the club’s B team.
His playing time in recent years has been limited by the emergence of Alvaro Odriozola alongside his own problems with continual muscle injuries.
Martinez made his first-team debut in 2007 and was instrumental in the club’s qualification for the Champions League six years later.
He will depart the club alongside captain Xabi Prieto later this month, with the club’s final game against Leganes likely to be used to send both players off in front of the fans.
