Getafe moved back into a Europa League qualification spot with a late victory at already-relegated Las Palmas on Sunday.
The visitors were without a number of regulars due to a build-up of injuries and suspensions but Angel Rodriguez netted the winner with two minutes left on the clock.
Paco Jemez’s side put up a good fight in front of a mere 4,500 spectators with Alejandro Galvez coming closest to scoring, as his header rattles the crossbar.
Jorge Molina hit a shot wide before Angel then hit the post late on, but the two veteran forwards combined to grab the winner two minutes from time.
Getafe now leapfrog Sevilla into seventh, although Los Rojiblancos have a game in hand against Real Madrid on Wednesday.
