Former Real Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa ‘cannot understand’ why people are still not supporting the club after their latest success.
The former full-back, who is now an ambassador for the club, was commenting after Madrid reached their third consecutive Champions League final and are aiming for their fourth title in five years.
“I don't understand how there are still people who are not supporting Madrid,” Arbeloa wrote on his Twitter account, while using the hashtags #APorLa13 and #HalaMadrid.
“It's like voluntarily giving up on happiness.”
The second reference in the quote was originally coined by journalist Manuel Jabois, as recognised by Marca.
Arbeloa made a total of 246 appearances for Los Blancos across two stints, having began his career at the club and returning in 2009, where he became a regular for seven campaigns.
