Luis Alberto set for World Cup slot?

Lazio midfielder Luis Alberto could be the surprising selection in the Spain squad for this summer’s World Cup, according to reports in the country.

The 25-year-old is enjoying the best season of his career to date, netting 12 goals and contributing 19 assists in 45 competitive games for the Italian club this season.

The former Sevilla, Liverpool, Malaga and Deportivo La Coruna player became the first player to register double figures in both goals (11) and assists (14) in Serie A this campaign.

Alberto’s only cap for the senior international team came in November 2017 in a friendly match against Costa Rica but Diario AS report he could be on the plane to Russia.
