Paco Jemez: I can’t look in the mirror

Paco Jemez has explained how his four-month stint at Las Palmas has seen him go “from the best guy in the world from not wanting to look in the mirror.”

The Gran Canarian was appointed at his hometown club in December but he does not appear to have done enough to help maintain the status of Los Amarillos in the top flight.

“In four months I have gone from the best guy in the world from not wanting to look in the mirror,” Jemez told Radio Marca.

“We have tried to save a team that was in last position, we have made changes and they have not worked, I have gone from triumph at Cruz Azul to this.

“People have a tendency to forget bad moments or bad seasons but we cannot allow ourselves to do that, this club and those involved must always remember this campaign.

“This season has had consequences and we must not be allowed to forget that.”

Las Palmas play at European-chasing Real Betis on Thursday night.
