Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic has taken time to congratulate Cristiano Ronaldo on his ‘awesome’ goal against Juventus.
The Croat spoke in glowing terms of the Real Madrid forward’s overhead goal in Turin, while he believes the Champions League is now harder to win than ever before.
“We have to congratulate Ronaldo on his goal, it was awesome,” Rakitic told reporters.
“It is difficult to find the right words…Real Madrid dominated all aspects of their match and played really well, so we have to congratulate them.
“We do not think about Madrid though, we concentrate on ourselves and how we can improve in every match, to enjoy playing together.
“I understand that people like to talk about other things but we are playing in the Champions League and there are more teams than just us and Madrid.
“It is a really strong tournament this season and we will have to be at our best if we are to win it.”
