Odegaard out for season

Martin Odegaard may have played his last game for Dutch club Heerenveen after breaking a metatarsal in his foot.

The Norwegian is currently on a season-long loan at the Eredivisie side from Real Madrid, while it is unclear if he will return to the Bernabeu this summer or once more be farmed out.

The Dutch club released a statement to confirm the 19-year-old has broken the bone in his foot after hobbling off in the weekend victory against Heracles.

Odegaard has started a Copa del Rey match for Los Blancos and made a league appearance from the bench, having initially joined the club in January 2015.

He previously played for Madrid’s Castilla side in the Spanish lower divisions and netted three goals in 37 starts this season in the Netherlands.
