Martin Odegaard reveals he will return to Real Madrid ‘for preseason’ but insists he has never regretted joining ‘the best team in the world’.
Odegaard signed for Madrid back in January 2005, having just turned 17, and has spent the past year on loan at Dutch side Heerenveen.
“I’m going to try to finish the season as well as possible with Heerenveen,” the Norwegian attacker was quoted as saying by Mundo Deportivo.
“I’ll return to Madrid this summer for preseason and then we’ll see what happens. Nothing’s been decided yet.
“Another loan? Possibly, but it’s not the time to talk about that. I’ve always said that the important thing is to play.
“It’s about looking for a club where you can get minutes at the highest level possible. Signing for Madrid? I’ve never regretted that decision.
“I knew I had to be patient because Real Madrid are the best team in the world.”
