Lucas Perez has ‘no regrets’ about returning to Deportivo La Coruna but his agent has admitted it was not the right move for the striker.
Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle explained the 29-year-old, who returned to the Riazor on a season-long loan from Arsenal last summer, had stronger offers elsewhere.
“In hindsight this was not the correct move,” Lovelle said on Cadena Cope.
“He does not regret the move as he is a Depor fan and he would probably take the same decision again because of his love and respect for the club, and he would not turn down the opportunity.
“However, he rejected offers that were better both economically and in a sporting sense, because he dreamed of playing for Depor again.
“It was a risky move as he knew it would not be easy to play for Spain again and it has been tough for him as an individual but also the team as a whole.
“Nobody envisaged this season and it’s not nice for any of the players involved.”
