Villarreal have joined the race to sign Genk midfielder and Norwegian international Sander Berge, according to reports in the Spanish press.
Genk reportedly want in excess of €10m having signed the Norwegian from Valerenga from €2m in January 2017 and could ask for as much as €15m.
The 20-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Sevilla last summer and has since been linked to Real Betis, with Estadio Deportivo now reporting Villarreal are at the head of the queue.
A report states that due to the club’s expected €20m sale of midfielder Rodri to Atletico Madrid in summer, they will have sufficient funds and a squad place for the Belgian-based player.
