Eduardo Berizzo has suggested that he did not expect to be sacked by Sevilla, only a month after his cancer diagnosis.
Berizzo was diagnosed with prostate cancer in November and underwent surgery to have his tumour removed, yet Sevilla chose to dismiss the Coach just two days before Christmas after a poor run of results.
“I think I imagined a different situation, but I don’t want to go back to it because when you’re stirring the past, you’re using the energy you need for tomorrow,” he told TyC Sports.
“I faced everything with all my strengfth. It went quickly and I don’t really feel like a victim, although I had to suffer the consequences of this disease.
“I’ve had surgery and I didn’t need anything else.”
