Porto want Casillas renewal

FC Porto president Pinto da Costa would like former Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas to renew his contract with the club.

Casillas joined the Portuguese giants from Madrid in 2015 and while his contract expires in June, the club have now indicated they would like him to remain beyond the summer.

“I would like Iker to continue, anything is possible,” da Costa is quoted as saying by Marca.

“I am very happy with him and the contributions he has made to the club since joining us from Madrid, he is an exemplary role model.

“A character like Iker is huge for the dressing room considering what he has won and achieved throughout his career so we will assess the situation.”

The 36-year-old has been restored to Sergio Conceicao’s team in recent weeks after Jose Sa was given a stretch as number one goalkeeper.
