Andres Iniesta reportedly faces 3-4 weeks out after he picked up a hamstring injury during Barcelona’s 1-0 win against Atletico Madrid.
Iniesta lasted just 34 minutes of Sunday’s top-of-the-table clash at Camp Nou, and Barca’s official website confirmed the presence of “a hamstring injury in his right leg”.
However, Catalunya Radio claims the problem could keep the midfielder out for as long as a month, explaining “everything points to a small tear”.
If so, the 33-year-old will miss Barca’s upcoming games against Malaga, Athletic Bilbao, Sevilla in La Liga, as well as the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie with Chelsea and Spain’s friendlies against Germany and Argentina on March 23 and 27.
In the meantime, Iniesta will undergo tests on Monday to learn the extent of his injury.
