Report: Berizzo cured of cancer

Former Sevilla and Celta Vigo boss Eduardo Berizzo has reportedly been cured of prostate cancer.

According to Marca, Berizzo does not need any more treatment after undergoing successful surgery to have a tumour removed.

The newspaper explains the Argentine “has lived a normal life” during his recovery from the operation, continuing to reside in Seville.

Furthermore, the 48-year-old would be “ready to take on a new coaching challenge”, with the publication noting he is not interested in media work.

Sevilla’s 3-3 draw with Liverpool back in November was reportedly inspired by Berizzo telling his players at half-time that he had been diagnosed with cancer.

Nonetheless, he was sacked by the Andalusians only a month later, despite having been in the midst of his treatment.
