Getafe goalkeeper Vicente Guaita will join Crystal Palace after reaching an agreement with his current club overa deal, say reports.
The Premier League side had been offering €4m but the shot-stopper’s release clause at the Madrid-based club stands at €8m, and Cadena Cope now report the player has reached a private agreement with the club to settle the remaining demand.
The 30-year-old has been out of the Madrid-based club’s side in recent weeks due to being unsettled by a previous failure by the parties involved to conclude a deal.
Marca reported on Wednesday he has already undergone his medical at Selhurst Park and that a deal is expected to be confirmed imminently.
Reports across the Spanish press earlier this month had suggested Getafe rejected a €4m offer from Roy Hodgson’s side, who are keen on an upgrade to current goalkeeper Wayne Hennessy and Julian Speroni.
Guaita – who is out of contract at the end of the season – had started 17 La Liga matches this season for Getafe and has kept six clean sheets, including in all four of his most recent games.
