Crystal Palace are stepping up their efforts to land Getafe goalkeeper Vicente Guaita but may face rival bids from Watford and Besiktas.
The 30-year-old has an €8m release clause at the Madrid-based club and he was dropped for Saturday’s defeat at Atletico Madrid, reportedly due to being unsettled.
Reports in Diario AS suggest Getafe rejected a €4m offer from Roy Hodgson’s side, who are keen on an upgrade to current goalkeeper Wayne Hennessy and Julian Speroni.
Guaita – who is out of contract at the end of the season – has started 17 La Liga matches this season for Getafe and has kept six clean sheets, including in all four of his most recent games.
The goalkeeper reportedly missed training on Sunday as he attempts to push through a move to Selhurst Park, although Watford and Besiktas continue to be linked.
