Alfredo Ortuno has revealed regret he could not join a La Liga club this summer following his January move to MLS side Real Salt Lake.
The 26-year-old joined La Liga 123 club Valladolid in summer after his release from parent club Las Palmas but was released soon after and was unable to join another club.
“Plenty of things happened in the summer but not the way I would have liked,” Ortuno told Cadena Ser.
“There were offers from La Liga clubs, from Girona, Alaves and Levante – I wanted to play in La Liga but I could not and I could not have joined them, so it has been a tough time.
“Returning to Cadiz in the future would be a very interesting option, I loved my time at the club and would be open to a return.
“Now I have joined Real Salt Lake I am very excited as I can start to train normally again and compete for regular first team football with an exciting project.”
