Fernando Torres has called on Atletico Madrid to recreate the atmosphere of the Vicente Calderon at their new Wanda Metropolitano home.
The veteran striker netted the winner for Diego Simeone’s side at home to Alaves on Saturday to help propel Los Rojiblancos into the top two for the first time this season.
“We need to create the sort of atmosphere we did in the Calderon,” Torres is quoted as saying by Marca.
“This is a much bigger stadium and whilst fans are beginning to become more involved at the new stadium, you can tell the difference in the noise levels.
“This won’t last forever and it will change soon but it is our responsibility to bring happy memories to the stadium with victories.
“Now we’re up to second and this is the position we want to be in, we feel that we are improving.”
