Lautaro Martinez’s agent has confirmed that the Racing Club forward will join Atletico Madrid.
Rolando Zarate’s claim comes after it was reported Atleti had agreed a €12m deal to sign Lautaro but would leave him at Racing until next summer so he can play in the Copa Libertadores.
“It’s always flattering when clubs like these are interested,” the representative told Tuttomercatoweb, referring to late interest from Serie A.
“I’ve read about these rumours, but Lautaro’s future has already been decided. We finalised it two weeks ago with Atletico Madrid. Lautaro will soon be under Simeone’s command.”
The Argentina Under-20 international, who had also been linked with Borussia Dortmund and Monaco. is expected to put pen to paper on a six-year contract with Los Rojiblancos.
