Atletico Madrid will play a fundraising match against Al Ahly this month to raise funds for the victims of a recent terrorist attack in Egypt.
Atleti will take on the Egyptian giants in the Borgh-al-Arab Stadium in Alexandria with funds going to the families of the victims of last month’s attack at a mosque on the Sinai Peninsula, where over 300 people died.
“After returning from their Christmas vacation, our players will have their final match of the year against the most successful Egyptian and African team,” read an Atletico statement.
“It will be an encounter in which peace and the spreading of it will be the main aim, promoting a message of love between people.
“All the proceeds from ticket sales will go to the families of the victims of the terror attacks in Egypt.”
