English Premier League club Crystal Palace are confident on securing a deal for Espanyol goalkeeper Diego Lopez in January, according to reports.
The 36-year-old joined the Catalan outfit permanently this summer from Milan but has yet to make a league appearance this season after featuring 35 times whilst on loan last campaign.
The experienced shot-stopper is behind namesake Pau Lopez in the pecking order at the RCDE Stadium and a report in the Daily Mirror suggests he will join Palace next month.
Officials at Selhurst Park are said to view him as a superior goalkeeper to either Wayne Hennessy or Julian Speroni and he would be first-choice.
Lopez enjoyed two spells at Real Madrid – where he won the Champions League in 2014 – whilst he has also enjoyed stints at Villarreal and Sevilla.
