Atletico Madrid have completed the €12m signing of Racing Club striker Lautaro Martinez but he will not move to the Wanda Metropolitano until next summer.
The 20-year-old has penned a six-year deal with Los Rojiblancos which will see his deal run until the summer of 2024 when he joins his new teammates in July.
The Argentina Under-20 international was also said to have attracted strong interest from Borussia Dortmund and Monaco, but Atleti’s persistence in the deal appears to have been key.
Diego Costa and Vitolo are both joining Diego Simeone’s side in the New Year and a series of exits over the next twelve months are expected.
