Manager-less Alaves are in talks with former Rayo Vallecano and Granda Coach Paco Jemez after he left Mexican club Cruz Azul.

The 47-year-old joined the Mexican giants in November 2016, two months after being sacked following six games in charge of Granada.

A report in Marca now states Alaves sporting director Sergio Fernandez has held talks with the former Spain international, who is keen on a swift return to management.

Former Sporting Gijon boss Abelardo Fernandez is also in the frame for the Basque club following the dismissal of Gianni De Biasi, while Javier Ceballo will take temporary charge of the team for the second time this season.

Las Palmas, who sacked Pako Ayestaran on Wednesday, are also said to be keen on Jemez.
