Kevin Gameiro believes his partnership with Antoine Griezmann ‘benefits the team’ and is hopeful they can continue up front together.
Both French forwards scored twice in Saturday’s 5-0 victory at Levante in a game where Atleti displayed their attacking prowess.
“It felt like last season again but this had not happened in a long time,” Gameiro told BeIn Sports after the match.
“When the two of us play together it benefits the team and it was great that we were both able to find the back of the net too.
“It’s a result which gives us a lot of confidence going forward for future games but if we can continue to score, we can find success.”
