Suso targets World Cup spot

Milan forward Suso is hopeful of earning a spot in Spain’s World Cup squad for next summer’s tournament in Russia.

The 23-year-old made his international debut in Tuesday’s 3-3 draw with Spain after a prolonged run of good form with the Italian giants.

“I’m working well at Milan, I’m doing well and I still have to improve but if I do that then it’s a possibility,” Suso told Sky Italia.

“I’m playing every game at Milan, maybe it’s not the same as before but we’re improving and growing.

“I could have left, but I stayed and I’m very happy. There’s a release clause but I’m happy at Milan.

“If I wanted to leave I wouldn’t have renewed and I would have left for a low price. I’m very happy here with the squad and my teammates.”
