Celta Vigo goalkeeper Sergio Alvarez has opened the door to a summer exit after rejecting the club’s new contract offer.
The 31-year-old’s contract at Estadio Balaidos expires in June 2018 but the Galician club have only offered him a one-year renewal, which he has openly rejected.
“I’m not satisfied at all with this offer,” the goalkeeper told Diario Atlantico.
“I do not like that they have offered me only one year as I want to continue here with more stability, so hopefully they can draw up another proposal.
“I did not expect this offer to be so short but I remain hopeful this can be improved upon but under no circumstances will I sign for just one season.”
Alvarez has spent the entirety of his career with Celta, making 156 league appearances across 12 seasons.
