Out-of-favour Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres may be reunited with former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez at Newcastle United, say reports.
The 33-year-old’s second stint at Los Rojiblancos is set to end either in January or next summer – when he is out of contract – due to the arrival of Diego Costa.
The former Spain international spent three seasons with Benitez at Anfield, and under the boss he netted 72 goals in 116 appearances.
Diario AS cite a report in the Daily Mirror which states the Magpies are eyeing a move for the striker, who also played for Chelsea in England.
Torres has found the net 25 times in 125 appearances since rejoining Atleti in January 2015, who has also been linked with moves to China and the US.
