The shock of the weekend came in an Andalucian derby as Sevilla Atletico recorded their first league win over the season at Granada, who had started the weekend on top – and now slip to fourth – before their 2-1 defeat.
Elsewhere, Numancia leapfrogged Lugo in the playoff slots after a 1-0 win at the Estadio Anxo Carro while 5th-placed Sporting Gijon were held to a 1-1 draw by Valladolid.
Cadiz play Reus in Monday night’s action.
