Zidane: Happy with win, but…

Zinedine Zidane was ‘happy’ with Real Madrid’s 3-0 win against Eibar on Sunday but admitted “we could’ve done better.”

Paulo Oliveira’s own goal, plus finishes from Marco Asensio and Marcelo, fired Madrid to their fourth straight win in La Liga, but Zidane made it clear he expected from his side going forward.

“We did well defensively. Even though I'm left with the feeling that we weren’t completely perfect, I’m still happy,” the Coach said after the game.

“We may have lacked fluency and could’ve done better with the ball, but ultimately we made several changes and sometimes we have to accept that we can’t always be perfect.

“Benzema on the bench? It was planned. After the weeks he’s had, we decided to bench him.

“It didn’t mean anything. He had to rest and then did very well for the half-hour he was on. It’s good news for us.

“Karim has a bit of everything. Football’s like this. It’s important to score, but other things are just as important and Benzema has them.”
