Las Palmas attacker Jonathan Viera insists he is ready to seize his Spain chance after being called up for the first time.
Viera has been rewarded for his flamboyant performances in a Las Palmas jersey over the past two seasons, and the 29-year-old paid tribute to Coach Julen Lopetegui for giving him the opportunity.
“Lopetegui? If no credit went to the Coaches, no team would have them,” he said at a Press conference for Spain’s final World Cup qualifier on Monday against Israel.
“Everyone deserves credit here, from the players to the kitmen. Playing at an empty Camp Nou? The team were prepared for a strange match.
“Football’s a spectacle and playing like we did isn’t good for anyone. Spain debut? I’m very happy to be here.
“I appreciate the opportunity. Now I just want to take advantage of it.”
